BEACON HMK Associate Site Coordinator

The Associate Site Coordinator supports the daily operations of the elementary afterschool program, helping to create a safe, engaging, and enriching environment for students. This role assists with program implementation, staff supervision, student engagement, family communication, and administrative responsibilities such as data collection for grants. The ideal candidate is organized, energetic, dependable, and passionate about working with children.

This position runs Monday-Thursday from Mid-August through the beginning of June following the school district calendar. Typical work hours are 9:30-5:30. This position is 32 hours per week and includes benefits. This position includes on-the-job training and paid professional development.

Starting Salary: $30,000 (150 contract days)

Start Date: August 10, 2026

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Assist the Site Coordinator in the daily operation of the afterschool program.

Provide daily leadership and guidance to program staff and volunteers as needed.

Support the supervision and safety of students during program hours.

Coordinate academic enrichment, recreation, arts, STEM, and other youth development activities.

Foster positive relationships with students, families, school personnel, and community partners.

Monitor program spaces to ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures.

Support student behavior management using positive youth development practices.

Help prepare materials, schedules, and activity plans.

Assist with family communication and program events.

Step into leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Site Coordinator.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience working with elementary-aged children in educational, recreational, or youth development settings.

Strong communication and organizational skills.

Ability to work collaboratively with students, families, and staff.

Must be 21 years of age.

First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain certification.

Preferred

Associate's or Bachelor's degree

Experience in afterschool, expanded learning, childcare, or youth programs.

Experience supervising staff, volunteers, or student groups.

Bilingual skills are a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Understanding of child development and age-appropriate practices.

Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities.

Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Proficiency with basic computer applications and record-keeping.

Commitment to creating an inclusive and welcoming environment for all students.

 Hourly K-6th Activity Leader Job Posting 

Activity leaders teach four days of activities per week for students in grades K-6.  Activity Leaderrs will also work with Kinder students for an hour each day. Shifts are Monday through Thursday 1-5:30 pm, which includes one hour per day of paid on-site prep time.  This position runs Monday-Thursday following the Grand County School District school year and is a 4.5 hour per day commitment. 

BEACON Afterschool is a fluid educational environment.  We are seeking someone with adaptability and flexibility.  Professional development and on the job training are provided.

Hourly - $21/hr for 18 hours per week

Core Job Responsibilities  

  • Plan and lead daily activities sessions.

  • Provide a safe, positive learning environment with fun, educational activities for students.

  • Prepare lesson plans that meet program requirements.

  • Show up on time and ready to teach.

  • Able to work in a shared space.

  • Assist with Family Events as requested.

Skills and Qualifications 

  • Ability to work independently and communicate effectively as needed.

  • Follow-through with commitment to program schedule for at least one quarter. Whole school year preferred.

  • Ability to meet the needs of students as individuals.

  • Enjoys working with elementary-aged students.

  • Must be 18 year of age or older.

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

Hourly Teen Activity Leader Job Posting 

Enrichment activities are available four days per week for students in grades 7-8 and/or 9-12.  Activity leaders work under the supervision of their Site Coordinator to effectively lead activities and workshops.  Activity leader shifts are Monday through Thursday 1:30 – 5:30, which includes an hour of prep time per shift.  This position runs Monday-Thursday following the Grand County School District school year and is a 4 hour per day commitment.

Hourly - $21/hr for 16 hours per week
